Using the Memory Medallion

The Memory Medallion is easy to use. Simply open the Medallion cover and touch the wand to the stainless steel disc to download the image and life story of someone special.

Two steps must be taken to access the information on the Memory Medallion. If a handheld computer is being used, the handheld must be synced to your laptop or desktop. If Microsoft Active Sync is not already installed on your computer, it can be obtained via free download from www.microsoft.com.

The next and final step is to install the Memory Medallion software. This software can be loaded from the Memory Medallion CD-Rom or a by visiting our downloads section. Just choose the laptop or handheld version and begin the download.

An additional feature of the Memory Medallion is its web link. Every Memory Medallion can be connected to a web site via its unique 16-digit serial number. The web link does not go into the Memory Medallion as the photo and story do, but instead uses the serial number to direct the reader to a specific web site designated by the family or customer who placed the Memory Medallion. The web site can include any number of additional pictures, stories, a family tree, GEDCOM files, audio and video files, a guestbook for messages from visitors, and anything else the family desires. The web site address can even be changed by informing us of the Memory Medallion serial number and the new web site address. Again, because this is done via serial number, we can make the change without ever altering the Memory Medallion contents.

How to use the Medallion

The Memory Medallion resides on an important location, such as a grave marker, memorial, or landmark.

The information contained on the Medallion is automatically downloaded to your handheld or laptop computer.
